Issue #1 Log: Unboxing the "Hardware" of Aging

The 2:00 AM Command Center: Monitoring the 'Legacy Hardware' from the home NOC. Sometimes, being a good son means being a great Systems Admin.
Most people think caregiving is a medical journey. After a few years of managing my 88-year-old father’s care, I’ve realized it’s actually a Systems Administration problem.
We are dealing with "Legacy Hardware" that doesn't always interface well with the modern healthcare "Software." I hope that does not sound mean or cold, it is not meant to. I love my father my IT brain is always trying to solve issues. LOL Drives my wife crazy too when I try to fix everything. :-)
I spent my career managing infrastructure for hundreds of thousands of users. In that world, if a server glitches, you check the logs. You look for the "Incident Report." But in the doctor’s office, we usually rely on "vague vibes"—He seems a little more confused today.
That doesn't work for me. I’m a DIY’er by nature. So, I built a tool to help me "log the glitches." It’s called the Incident Logbook, and it’s the first thing you’ll get when you join this network.

Boots on the Ground: Converting 'vague vibes' into actionable data. If it isn't in the logbook, the doctor can’t help us fix the glitch.
I don't have all the answers. I’m troubleshooting this journey in real-time, just like you. But I do know this: If you can’t log it, you can’t fix it.
Welcome to the NOC (Network Operations Center). Let’s get these systems stable. :-)
Onward,
Nigel
Network Engineer & Caregiver
